DECO - Author Interview

  1. Tell us why we should read Lights Out.

Okay, here comes the sales pitch. I think you should read Lights Out because it’s the perfect story if you’re in the mood for something dark, unusual and disturbing. I pulled no punches with this book. It’s steeped in the darker side of humanity. Even though it has some paranormal aspects to it, there are also facets of mankind’s underbelly, which are decidedly not paranormal.

2. Are there any future works in the process?

Absolutely. When my mom finished Lights Out, she demanded that I write something “happy.” Which is a lot easier said than done. I have some ideas for two more books after the one I’m writing now. I just have to get through the happy book first.

3. Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

Keeping writing and always keep an open mind. There’s no such thing as “I’ve-learned-everything-there-is-to-know-about-writing.” And always, always read. Reading and writing go together like peanut butter and jelly.
