WIP Spotlight: Lie To Me

I’ve been scrolling through my current Works in Progress, to see what I might be able to share with you. Some of these are WIPs in the broadest sense, in that I haven’t started writing them yet, but they’re part of a series currently in the works.

In a world of magic, there are witches and mages. The good, and the criminal. Then there are Voids – those born without magic. Unwanted. Useless.

After the brutal murder of five family members, including his sister, Finne is the eldest surviving male of his generation. The killer? Ilys Lainne, who claims to be a Void, and incapable of committing the crime.

Someone has pulled strings to get Ilys arrested, convicted, and sentenced to death all within weeks of the crime. But there are too many unanswered questions, and Finne isn’t ready to let Ilys die until he knows exactly what happened at Ingach Park.

With three weeks before Ilys is put to death, Finne plans to use every ounce of power behind his wealthy-family’s name to get answers. Getting access to Ilys is surprisingly easy. Getting to the truth may be impossible.

They say the truth hurts, but silence kills. If Ilys remains silent about what happened that day, he’ll be put to death without mercy. But, if he tells the truth…Finne may wish he’d believed the lies.

Loyalty comes at a price, and Ilys must decide whether to pay the ultimate price to keep the truth buried…
